I created this piece because I was looking for something less... unobtainable after creating my last pieces, "My Bliss Photo" and "My Bliss Fantasy." So I started thinking about a scene that was more likely to exist than the one depicted in those pieces. Originally I started working on a valley, but I quickly decided that while I like mountains, I do not like being that closed in. So I decided to create a single mountain in the background, one that would not give me that claustrophobic feeling. I took a mountain range and narrowed it down to better reflect the size of the mountain range nearest my house. I live in the Rocky Mountains, but there is a small mountain range near my house that is very old, and I made this mountain range look very similar to it. But I wanted more life to appear in this piece. So I began searching for a picture of a small town on stock.xchng, and found a small villa that would fit in nicely at the base of my mountain. The paths on the mountain came from a stock image I used, mostly because these paths showed that the people had established themselves here.

I have noticed how many people are creating "'Bliss'-like" images, which is why I am glad this one turned out differently. This piece is closer to a reality for me than the others, but it is still a long ways off. I am still working on my photo-manipulation skills, and I am sure flaws exist in this piece, so I encourage anyone and every one to point them out to me, so that I can better myself. These pieces are more of a learning experience for me, but I figure that I might as well learn while making something I will want to keep and let others look at.
